Visitors experienced all the recreational opportunities that Lovers Key has to offer at this year's Great Outdoor Adventure Day which was held on October 29, 2011. Guided adventures ran throughout the day. (the bulk  of which were FREE OF CHARGE!). Adventures included; bicycle tours of Black Island, geocaching excursions, kayak tours of the Black Island Kayak Trail, fishing and cast netting clinics and creative activities for kids of all ages.

Paddleboard demonstrations were a huge hit this year with many participants out and about in the canals! Both novice and expert paddlers celebrated the calm beautiful water and pleasant weather.

Exhibitors included environmental organizations, nature centers and outdoor equipment specialists, as well as healthy lifestyle vendors. The band "Cruzanvibes" serenated the event area with a rythmic steel drum sound!

The event would not have been possible without the countless hours of the 23 incredible volunteers who helped to prepare, setup, and ensure the day was a wonderful experience for everyone!
